KUALA LUMPUR, 15 SEPTEMBER 2026 – Twenty-one social enterprises from Central and Northern Malaysia complete Satu Creative’s venture development programme, gaining access to business expertise, networks and potential funding pathways.

Twenty-one social enterprises from Central and Northern Malaysia have completed Creative Sprint 2026, a venture development programme designed to help purpose-driven businesses strengthen their foundations for sustainable growth and greater social impact.

Now in its third year, Satu Creative’s flagship programme brought together founders working across three themes: Income Pathways, Heritage Conservation and Circular Solutions.

The programme encouraged participating founders to look beyond their social purpose and examine the fundamentals needed to build businesses that can last, including understanding customers, strengthening revenue models, measuring impact, developing partnerships and identifying suitable capital for growth.

Across its Kuala Lumpur and Penang editions, participants put these principles into practice through intensive bootcamps, gaining direct access to entrepreneurs, investors, industry practitioners and ecosystem leaders.

Turning Social Purpose into Sustainable Businesses

For social enterprises, creating positive social or environmental impact is closely linked to building a financially sustainable business model.

“Across both cohorts, we saw founders with a strong sense of purpose and a willingness to challenge their assumptions. Creative Sprint gives them the space to test ideas, learn from those who have been there, build the right connections and get clearer on what comes next. What matters now is how they turn those insights into action and impact,” said Ahmad Azuar Zainuddin, Chief Executive Officer of Satu Creative.

Throughout the programme, participating founders were able to engage with experienced entrepreneurs, investors and ecosystem leaders, gaining perspectives on areas ranging from business development and investment readiness to partnerships and market opportunities.

Among those involved were Tuan Haji Hazani Hassan of Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC), Sam Shafie of pitchIN, Lilyana Latiff of BETA Foundation, Joe Sidek of Penang Arts Council, Aaron Sarma of ScaleUp Malaysia, Johnathan Lee of Cradle Fund, Andy Othman of Plug and Play Malaysia, Khooi Chu Boon of Digital Penang, Howie Chang of Forward College, Jian Tong Chia of White Room and Wan Dazriq Wan Zulkiflee of SEEd.Lab.

Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) also led a dedicated session for participating founders.

From Bootcamps to Pitch Days

The programme culminated in Pitch Days in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, where participants presented their ventures to mentors, investors and ecosystem leaders.

With support from Yayasan Hasanah, Bank Simpanan Nasional, Digital Penang, Malaysian Business Angels Network (MBAN) and Artem Ventures, Creative Sprint provided founders with feedback, networks and potential pathways to funding, partnerships and market opportunities.

The programme is designed not only to help social enterprises refine their ideas, but also to strengthen their ability to translate those ideas into viable ventures capable of sustaining their social impact over the longer term.

Funding Opens the Next Stage of Growth

For the participating social enterprises, completing Creative Sprint is only one stage of their wider growth journey.

Eligible ventures will have the opportunity to receive grants of up to RM100,000 to support their next stage of development, alongside the networks and opportunities established through the programme.

Yayasan Hasanah said access to funding, knowledge and networks can help social enterprises strengthen their businesses while expanding their impact.

“Social enterprises have an important role to play in addressing the needs of communities, but creating lasting impact also requires strong and sustainable businesses,” said Puan Siti Kamariah Ahmad Subki, Managing Director and Trustee, Yayasan Hasanah. “Through the Hasanah Social Enterprise Fund and our collaboration with Satu Creative, we are supporting founders with access to funding, knowledge and networks that can help them strengthen their ventures and grow their impact,” she said.

She added that Yayasan Hasanah was encouraged by this year’s participants and looked forward to seeing how their ventures develop.

Building Businesses That Can Sustain Impact

With the programme completed, the focus now shifts to implementation as participating founders apply what they have learned to their ventures.

For Satu Creative, the objective is to help social enterprises move from purpose-driven ideas towards stronger business models, deeper partnerships and sustainable growth.

The next stage will see eligible ventures pursue funding and other opportunities while continuing to build the capabilities needed to expand their reach and deepen their impact.

Creative Sprint 2026 ultimately highlights the connection between social impact and business sustainability, demonstrating how stronger commercial foundations can help purpose-driven enterprises continue serving their communities over the long term.
