KUALA LUMPUR, 29 SEPTEMBER 2026 – The Malaysia-Hong Kong Women Entrepreneurs Business Exchange and Showcase brings together business leaders for networking, business matching and market expansion, alongside a new MOU on women’s entrepreneurship.

Women entrepreneurs and business leaders from Malaysia and Hong Kong gathered in Kuala Lumpur for the Malaysia-Hong Kong Women Entrepreneurs Business Exchange and Showcase, held at Menara EcoWorld on 29 September 2026.

Jointly organised by the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce Women Entrepreneurs Committee (MCCC WEC) and the Golden Bauhinia Women Entrepreneurs Association (GB-WEA), the event provided a platform for women entrepreneurs and business representatives from both markets to explore cross-border collaboration, business matching and market expansion opportunities.

Hosted by MCCC WEC and co-organised by GB-WEA, the programme was supported by EcoWorld, which provided venue and catering sponsorship. The programme was coordinated by MCCC WEC Secretary-General and Organising Committee Chairperson Ms Goh Swee Yong.

The event also marked the first business delegation organised by GB-WEA to Malaysia. Led by GB-WEA Chairperson Ms Priscilla Hui and Permanent Honorary President Ms Kelly Tsim, the delegation met with Malaysian women entrepreneurs from a range of industries.

Exploring Business Opportunities Across Markets

The programme featured business presentations, company showcases, leadership dialogue, networking and business matching sessions.

Discussions covered a diverse range of sectors, including technology, finance, healthcare and wellness, cross-border services, trade, education, e-commerce and professional services.

Goh said the exchange was intended to go beyond networking by creating meaningful, long-term partnerships between women entrepreneurs in Malaysia and Hong Kong.

MCCC WEC Chairperson Ms Jamie Tiew Yen Houng said Hong Kong’s strengths in finance, trade and professional services, together with Malaysia’s access to the wider ASEAN market, provide opportunities for further business collaboration between the two markets.

The exchange therefore provided participants with opportunities to establish connections, explore potential partnerships and identify avenues for expanding their businesses across borders.

MCCC WEC and GB-WEA Sign MOU

A key highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MCCC WEC and GB-WEA to strengthen cooperation in women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship development.

Under the MOU, the two organisations will collaborate through dialogue, information exchange and joint activities, while promoting networking and resource sharing among women entrepreneurs in Malaysia and Hong Kong.

The partnership will also support future business exchanges, business matching and cross-border collaboration, alongside initiatives focused on women’s leadership development and youth entrepreneurship.

Building Long-Term Collaboration

The event received the support of MCCC leadership and corporate partners, including MCCC Vice Presidents Dato’ See Meng Geok and Dato’ Angie Ng Wai Sam, as well as Dato’ Ho Kwee Hong, Chief Development Officer of EcoWorld.

Representatives from both organisations also attended the event, including MCCC WEC Vice Chairperson Ms Arlene Tan Eng Guat, Deputy Secretary-General Ms Tern Pei Mee and other council members.

GB-WEA was represented by Permanent Honorary Presidents Ms Carol Yau and Ms Mariana Lam, Executive Vice Chairperson Ms Lisa Chang, Vice Chairperson Ms Winnie Fong and other representatives.

The organisers said the successful exchange marked a further step in strengthening business connections between women entrepreneurs in Malaysia and Hong Kong.

With the new MOU providing a framework for continued cooperation, MCCC WEC and GB-WEA aim to build on the exchange through future business opportunities, cross-border collaboration, women’s leadership development and entrepreneurship initiatives.
