KUALA LUMPUR, 6 AUGUST 2026 – The first Neue Klasse model to arrive in Malaysia combines an 805 km WLTP range, 800-volt charging, AI-powered technology and BMW’s next-generation electric driving experience — with a three-month payment holiday before the first instalment

BMW Malaysia has introduced the New BMW iX3 50 xDrive M Sport Pro, marking the arrival of the Neue Klasse portfolio in Malaysia and what the company describes as its most significant new BMW model in a generation.

Already named World Car of the Year and World Electric Vehicle of the Year 2026 by an international jury of 98 motoring journalists, the new BMW iX3 combines sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology, an 800-volt electrical architecture, advanced artificial intelligence capabilities and a new digital user experience.

The model is also available with a three-month payment holiday before the first instalment begins, giving Malaysian customers an added ownership benefit as BMW Malaysia introduces its latest electric vehicle.

A New Era for BMW in Malaysia

The New BMW iX3 50 xDrive M Sport Pro represents the fullest expression yet of BMW’s Neue Klasse technology, a new vehicle generation designed to redefine the brand’s approach to electric mobility, driving dynamics and digitalisation.

BMW Group Malaysia Managing Director Benjamin Nagel said the Neue Klasse represents a significant moment in BMW’s history, drawing parallels with the original Neue Klasse launched in the 1960s.

According to Nagel, the new BMW iX3 is intended to set a new benchmark for the premium automotive segment, with innovations spanning driving dynamics, artificial intelligence, circularity and vehicle production.

The model is the first production vehicle to feature sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology, combining electric performance with enhanced efficiency and long-distance capability.

Sixth-Generation BMW eDrive and the Heart of Joy

At the centre of the New BMW iX3 50 xDrive M Sport Pro is its sixth-generation BMW eDrive system, built around an 800-volt architecture.

The vehicle features a high-voltage battery with cylindrical cells arranged in a cell-to-pack configuration, delivering 108.7 kWh of usable energy. The battery housing is integrated directly into the vehicle body, helping create a low centre of gravity to enhance driving dynamics.

Two electric motors, one on each axle, produce a combined 345 kW (469 hp) and maximum torque of 645 Nm. Power is transmitted through a single-speed automatic transmission to BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, which is rear-biased.

The vehicle’s driving dynamics are governed by the Heart of Joy, a high-performance control unit designed to respond around ten times faster than conventional systems.

This rapid response reduces the delay between driver input and vehicle reaction, supporting greater directional stability, agility and control.

The system also enhances acceleration and deceleration. Recuperation accounts for around 98% of braking manoeuvres on average and can bring the vehicle to a complete standstill, helping deliver smoother braking even in stop-and-go traffic.

Up to 805 km of Electric Range

The New BMW iX3 50 xDrive M Sport Pro offers a WLTP range of up to 805 km, positioning it as a long-distance electric vehicle designed to reduce the need for frequent charging.

Its 800-volt architecture supports DC charging at up to 400 kW, allowing the vehicle to add up to 372 km of range in approximately 10 minutes.

The 108.7 kWh battery is also compatible with 400-volt charging infrastructure, providing greater flexibility for drivers using different charging networks.

With WLTP energy consumption of 17.9–15.1 kWh/100 km and a drag coefficient of 0.24, BMW describes the New BMW iX3 as its most efficient battery-electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) to date.

The charging experience is further supported by intelligent technology. When route guidance is active, the vehicle prepares its high-voltage battery during the journey so that charging can begin at the highest possible rate upon arrival.

The intelligent charging flap can also open automatically when the driver’s door is opened and close once charging is complete. Using AI, the system can recognise previously visited charging points based on the vehicle’s direction of approach.

BMW Panoramic iDrive Brings a New Digital Experience

The New BMW iX3 introduces BMW Panoramic iDrive, designed around the principle of presenting the right information in the right place at the right time.

One of its key features is the 43.3-inch BMW Panoramic Vision, which projects information across the full width of the windscreen from A-pillar to A-pillar.

Driving information is displayed within the driver’s field of vision, while up to six selectable widgets can provide access to navigation, weather, media and other functions.

The system is complemented by a new BMW 3D Head-Up Display, which projects navigation and driver assistance information as a full-colour three-dimensional visualisation.

A 17.9-inch Central Display with a Free-Cut Design provides access to the vehicle’s functions through BMW Operating System X and QuickSelect.

The redesigned BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant also introduces enhanced natural-language interaction and proactive functions that can learn from the driver’s habits, suggest features and save routines that can be automatically executed at the beginning of journeys.

A New Design Language

The New BMW iX3 introduces a new exterior design language that BMW says will define the brand’s future vehicle generation.

Smooth surfaces, precise lines and a monolithic appearance create a distinctive road presence, while the vertical kidney grille features BMW Iconic Glow as a defining visual element.

The vehicle is equipped with flush-mounted door handles with contour lighting, an integrated intelligent charging flap and a muscular shoulder area.

At the rear, large lights frame the BMW badge, while the vehicle sits on 22-inch Y-Spoke Style 1054 M bicolour light-alloy wheels with M Sport brakes finished in high-gloss red.

The New BMW iX3 is available in six exterior colours, including Alpine White, Black Sapphire, M Brooklyn Grey and Space Silver, alongside the new Ocean Wave Blue and Polarised Grey metallic finishes.

A Spacious and Technology-Focused Interior

Inside, the New BMW iX3 combines modern materials, ambient lighting and technology to create a premium cabin.

The Interior Design BMW M in Black provides a performance-oriented appearance, while the M Sport seats feature pronounced shoulder sections, higher seat and backrest cheeks and a seven-programme massage function.

Standard equipment includes electric seat adjustment with memory function, seat heating for the driver and front passenger, steering wheel heating, M seat belts, Comfort Access and a wireless charging tray.

A 430-watt, 13-speaker Harman Kardon HiFi loudspeaker system provides the in-car entertainment experience.

Rear passengers benefit from generous headroom and footwell space, adjustable seat backs, a centre armrest and independent three-zone automatic climate control.

The panoramic sunroof with climate comfort glazing adds natural light while providing UV protection.

For practicality, the New BMW iX3 offers 520 litres of luggage capacity, expanding to 1,750 litres with the rear seats folded in a 40/20/40 split. A further 58-litre storage compartment beneath the bonnet is made from 30% recycled maritime material.

AI-Powered Driving Assistance and Parking Technology

The New BMW iX3 50 xDrive M Sport Pro comes equipped with cameras, radars and sensors supporting a comprehensive suite of driving and parking assistance systems.

Through Symbiotic Drive, AI-supported software integrates with driver inputs to support acceleration, braking and steering.

The standard Driving Assistant suite includes Lane Keeping Assistant, Lane Departure Warning, Side Collision Warning, Emergency Stop Assistant, Cruise Control, Lane Change Warning and Speed Limit Info.

The Driving Assistant Plus system adds steering and braking support, speed and distance control and lane-keeping assistance, while also responding to detected speed limits and road features such as corners, roundabouts and junctions.

For parking, Parking Assistant Professional provides a 360-degree view of the vehicle and its surroundings. Using a compatible smartphone, drivers can also carry out parking manoeuvres while standing up to six metres away from the vehicle.

Digital Connectivity Comes as Standard

The New BMW iX3 also features extensive digital connectivity, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Navigation instructions can be displayed through both BMW Panoramic Vision and the BMW 3D Head-Up Display.

BMW Digital Premium comes as standard, providing access to audio and video streaming, gaming and navigation services.

The My BMW App can alert owners if the parking collision recorder detects a collision while the vehicle is parked.

BMW Digital Key Plus uses ultra-wideband technology to recognise the driver without requiring the key to be removed from a pocket or bag. The vehicle can automatically welcome the approaching driver through lighting effects and automatically extending door handles.

BMW Malaysia’s Ownership Support

Alongside the introduction of the new electric vehicle, BMW Group Malaysia is highlighting its Relax. We Care. service promise, designed to provide customers with ongoing ownership support.

BMW Proactive Care monitors vehicle condition using real-time sensor data and can alert owners through the My BMW App or vehicle iDrive system when potential faults or maintenance requirements are detected.

The BMW Service & Repair Inclusive (BSRI) programme provides a five-year unlimited-mileage warranty, together with five years or 100,000 km of service coverage.

For battery electric vehicles, service coverage extends to six years with unlimited mileage, while the high-voltage battery is covered by an eight-year warranty.

BMW Roadside Assistance is also available 24/7, including emergency support such as towing, courtesy cars and hotel accommodation in the event of an emergency.

The BMW New Car Campaign brings these offerings together to provide customers with a connected and supported ownership experience from the outset.
