KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis Bhd posted a stronger net profit of RM436 million in the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q2’26), compared with RM398 million in the same period a year ago.
Revenue increased to RM2.66 billion during the quarter from RM2.56 billion previously, supported by higher deviceand service revenue.
Device revenue rose to RM454 million andservice revenue gained to RM2.25 billion in Q2’26.
“Within service revenue, the consumer business segment saw a 2.2% growth to RM1.84 billion.
Postpaid revenue was up 4.2% year-on-year, with subscriptions increasing by 197,000 to 4.2 million subscribers as a result of effective product offerings to address market needs from various customer segments.
“However, the prepaid segment saw a decline in subscriptions due to prepaid-to-postpaid migration whilst still maintaining steady revenue at RM612 million, with greater value offerings provided to customers which resulted in average revenue per user improvement,” the telecommunications company said in a stock exchange filing.
Maxis said the enterprise business segment recorded 2.2%revenue growth to RM416 million, contributed by higher project deliveries for fixed and solutions business.
For the first half year, Maxis recorded a higher net profit of RM853 million from RM769 million, while revenue went up to RM5.39 billion from RM5.17 billion previously.
On its prospects, Maxissaid that amida highly competitive telecommunications landscape, itremains focused on driving long-term sustainable growth by streamlining operational efficiencies while elevating customer experiences through service innovation and superior network reliability.
Maxis CEOGoh Seow Eng said that while the group completed a solid first half, its full-year guidance remains unchanged at low single-digit growth in service revenue and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation, with capital expenditure intensity between 10% and 12%.
“Across the remainder of the year, we remain focused on leveraging our integrated network to create value for consumers and power businesses, while delivering sustainable long-term growth for our shareholders,” he added.
Maxis declared a single-tier tax-exempt dividend of four sen per ordinary share for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026.
