PETALING JAYA: Hextar Global Bhd’s net profit slipped 5.1% to RM15.12 million in the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q2’26), from RM15.93 million a year earlier, despite revenue rising 12.1% to RM199.05 million.
The higher revenue was mainly driven by a RM22.6 million increase in sales from its agriculture segment, although this was partly offset by a RM7.6 million decline in specialty chemicals revenue.
Profit before tax fell 3.4% to RM20.39 million from RM21.11 million previously, mainly due to a RM4 million decline in contributions from its fruits segment. This was partly offset by improved contributions from the agriculture and specialty chemicals segments.
For the first half of 2026 (H1’26), net profit was largely unchanged at RM29.40 million compared with RM29.44 million in the corresponding period last year, while revenue declined 5% to RM395.25 million from RM416.07 million.
The decline in H1’26 revenue was primarily due to a RM77.2 million drop in sales from the specialty chemicals segment, partly offset by higher contributions from the agriculture and fruits segments.
Meanwhile, profit before tax for H1’26 fell 14.9% to RM40.65 million from RM47.76 million, mainly due to lower contributions from the specialty chemicals segment, although improved performance from agriculture partly cushioned the decline.
