KUALA LUMPUR, 15 OCTOBER 2026 – Representatives from 86 countries and territories gather in Malaysia to strengthen international collaboration and shape the global professional services network’s strategic priorities towards 2030.
Baker Tilly Malaysia hosted 150 managing partners and senior leaders from 86 countries and territories at the Baker Tilly Leadership Summit 2026 in Kuala Lumpur on 14 and 15 October.
The international gathering brought together leaders from across the global network to exchange perspectives, strengthen professional relationships and align on strategic priorities that will guide the organisation towards 2030.
Hannah Yeoh Opens International Leadership Summit
The summit was officially opened by Hannah Yeoh, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), who delivered the keynote address.
She highlighted the challenges of leadership in an increasingly technology-driven world, emphasising the importance of adaptability, empowering people to act accountably and upholding professional integrity.
Yeoh noted that leaders must be prepared for changing circumstances, remain open to perspectives beyond their own experiences and build systems that enable people to understand their responsibilities and make sound decisions.
She also stressed that leadership responsibilities extend beyond an individual’s tenure, making independent judgement and integrity essential in fields such as auditing and business advisory.
While technology can improve efficiency, Yeoh said it cannot replace the responsibility leaders must take for their decisions.
Malaysia Strengthens Its Position as a Regional Business Hub
Hosting the summit marked an important milestone for Baker Tilly Malaysia, giving the firm an opportunity to welcome international partners and showcase Kuala Lumpur as a regional business hub.
The event also coincided with Visit Malaysia Year 2026, providing an opportunity to introduce international delegates to Malaysia’s cultural diversity, hospitality and business opportunities.
Andrew Heng, Group Managing Partner of Baker Tilly Malaysia and Chair of the Baker Tilly Asia-Pacific (APAC) Region, said the gathering demonstrated the strength of the firm’s global network and the importance of cross-border collaboration.
He added that the summit provided an opportunity for leaders to exchange perspectives and strengthen their collective commitment as they work towards the network’s 2030 priorities.
By building stronger relationships across international markets, Heng said, the network could continue learning from one another and deliver greater value to clients and the communities it serves.
Global Collaboration to Address Business Challenges
The summit provided a platform for Baker Tilly’s global leadership to discuss emerging opportunities and challenges facing the accountancy and business advisory profession.
Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration across markets and exploring how the network could better support clients operating in an increasingly interconnected business environment.
With representatives from 86 countries and territories gathered in Kuala Lumpur, the summit highlighted the role of international partnerships in helping businesses navigate changing market conditions, pursue growth opportunities and respond to evolving client needs.
The gathering reinforced Baker Tilly’s commitment to closer collaboration across its global network as it prepares for the next phase of its development towards 2030.
