BYD Sime Motors expands the 2026 BYD SEALION 7 lineup with a new Dynamic variant, upgraded battery technology, faster charging and improved driving range, making its flagship electric SUV more accessible to Malaysian motorists.

BYD Sime Motors has unveiled the 2026 BYD SEALION 7 in Malaysia, introducing a new Dynamic variant alongside enhanced Premium and Performance models as the company strengthens its position in the country’s fast-growing electric vehicle (EV) market.
The refreshed lineup delivers longer driving range, faster charging capabilities and a wider range of price points, offering Malaysian consumers more flexibility when choosing an electric SUV that suits their lifestyle and budget.
The launch comes as BYD continues to expand its footprint in Malaysia. Since its debut in 2024, the SEALION 7 has become Malaysia’s best-selling D-segment electric SUV in 2025, with more than 6,300 units delivered nationwide.
New Dynamic Variant Makes the SEALION 7 More Accessible
The biggest addition to the lineup is the SEALION 7 Dynamic, which provides a more affordable entry point into BYD’s flagship electric SUV range without compromising on key technology and safety features.
Priced at RM163,800, the Dynamic variant is available at a special introductory price of RM159,800 for the first 300 customers after a RM4,000 promotional savings.
Powered by a 71.8 kWh BYD Blade Battery, the rear-wheel-drive model produces 170 kW of power and 380 Nm of torque, delivering a driving range of 520 km (NEDC) and accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.
Premium and Performance Variants Receive Major Upgrades
BYD has also enhanced the Premium and Performance variants with larger batteries and significantly faster charging capabilities.
Both models now feature a 91.39 kWh BYD Blade Battery, replacing the previous 82.56 kWh battery in the Premium variant.
As a result, the Premium model’s driving range increases from 567 km to 650 km (NEDC), while DC fast-charging capability improves from 150 kW to 230 kW, reducing charging times and improving convenience for long-distance travel.
The Performance variant combines all-wheel drive with 390 kW of power and 690 Nm of torque, enabling 0–100 km/h acceleration in just 4.5 seconds while offering a driving range of 600 km (NEDC).
Built on BYD’s Advanced EV Platform
All variants are built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 and come equipped with the company’s Blade Battery, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), intelligent connectivity features and nine airbags as standard.
The platform integrates multiple vehicle systems to improve driving efficiency, safety and structural rigidity while extending driving range and enhancing overall vehicle performance.
Depending on the variant, buyers can also enjoy features such as ventilated power-adjustable seats, a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment display, digital instrument cluster, and multiple intelligent driving technologies.
Expanding Beyond Vehicle Sales
According to Jacob Ma, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia, the latest updates give customers greater flexibility while supporting Malaysia’s transition towards electric mobility.
Meanwhile, Adeline Lew, Managing Director of BYD Sime Motors, said the company continues to invest heavily in strengthening the ownership experience through its nationwide network and after-sales services.
Today, BYD operates 44 sales and marketing outlets, 28 after-sales facilities, and 12 body and paint centres across Malaysia. The company has also introduced the BYD Certified Pre-Owned Programme, including the first BYD Certified showroom in the Asia-Pacific region.
Launch Promotions for Malaysian Buyers
To celebrate the launch, BYD Sime Motors is offering exclusive promotions across the entire SEALION 7 lineup.
The first 300 buyers of the Dynamic variant can purchase the vehicle for RM159,800 after RM4,000 in savings or opt for a complimentary wallbox.
Meanwhile, customers purchasing the Premium or Performance variants will receive a complimentary wallbox together with overtrade bonuses of RM3,888 and RM2,888 respectively.
Customers who book any BYD vehicle during the “BEYOND YOUR DRIVE” roadshow at 1 Utama Shopping Centre from 30 July to 2 August 2026 will also receive RM200 worth of charging credits.
Every 2026 BYD SEALION 7 is backed by a six-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, alongside an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty for both the Blade Battery and drive unit, providing added confidence for EV buyers.
