PETALING JAYA: Glove maker Supermax Corporation Bhd recorded revenue of RM217.3 million for the fourth quarter ended June 30, 2026 (FY26), representing a 42.5% increase compared with Q4’25.
The growth was primarily driven by higher average selling prices (ASP) and increased demand from ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
The improved top-line performance and better cost efficiency enabled the group to record a turnaround, posting profit before tax (PBT) of RM35.15 million and profit after tax (PAT) of RM80.32 million for Q4’26 compared with loss before tax (LBT) of RM89.21 million and loss after tax (LAT) of RM51.64 million recorded in the same quarter last year. PAT was boosted by the recognition of deferred tax assets.
The group remains committed to strengthening financial performance by expanding its customer portfolio and driving enhanced production efficiency.
Further, the group also performed better than in the preceding quarter, driven by improved market conditions following the Middle East conflict and disciplined cost management.
Its top line rose 71.4% (RM90.5 million), helping the group return to profitability. The group recorded Ebitda, PBT and PAT of RM66.6 million, RM35.2 million and RM79.8 million respectively vs losses of RM13.1 million, RM39.6 million and RM41.4 million in Q3’26.
PAT was further supported by the recognition of deferred tax assets. The group remains steadfast in its commitment to strengthening financial performance by expanding its customer portfolio and driving enhanced production efficiency.
In its statement to Bursa Malaysia, Supermax acknowledged that its manufacturing plant and operations in the United States provided the group a strategic edge and shielded the Supermax Group against international freight and cross-border logistics volatility.
Following the completion, testing, commissioning, and formal handover of the final production lines at its US plant in June this year, a substantial decline in installation costs and pre-operating expenses will be expected.
The group anticipates that from the second half of 2026 onwards, the US plant will scale up to absorb large-volume orders from a broad spectrum of US domestic clients.
Supermax Group maintains a positive operational outlook.
Buoyed by improving industry-wide supply-demand fundamentals, more disciplined Chinese capacity expansion, rising ASP trends, and favourable trade protection shifts, the group is strategically positioned to capture high-margin demand.
By scaling up manufacturing output at the US plant, realising structural cost efficiencies across global facilities, and expanding distribution networks, the group remains firmly on track to optimise performance, drive sales growth, and return to higher profitability in the second half of 2026, Supermax said.
