PETALING JAYA: Integrated engineering solutions provider Kelington Group Bhd, through wholly owned subsidiary Kelington Technologies Sdn Bhd (KTSB), has secured an additional contract award worth about RM133 million for an advanced data storage manufacturing facility in Sama Jaya Free Industrial Zone in Kuching, Sarawak.
This follows a RM172 million contract from the same customer for the facility, announced on Sept 29.
The new award relates to the customer’s ongoing expansion project in Kuching.
The RM133 million award encompasses major structural steel works forming part of the overall advanced data storage manufacturing facility project. The works are expected to commence immediately and are scheduled for completion by April 2028.
Prior to the latest award, KTSB had secured contracts and purchase orders with an aggregate value of approximately RM283 million from the customer for the project. With the additional RM133 million award, the aggregate value of awards secured now stands at approximately RM416 million.
CEO Lim Seng Chuan said, “The successive awards reflect the customer’s confidence in our ability to deliver. The latest award for major structural steel works adds another key work package to the scopes already secured for the project and demonstrates our ability to support different requirements within a large-scale facility development.”
“For Kelington, the project highlights the depth of opportunities that can arise from major customer investment programmes. We expect further work packages to be awarded as the project progresses and remain optimistic about securing additional scopes from the customer.”
For the six months ended June 30, the group secured RM1.23 billion in new contracts.
Including subsequent contract wins and the latest RM133 million contract, total year-to-date wins stood at RM3.91 billion. This provides the group with a healthy order book and supports earnings visibility over the coming years.
