The Malaysia Economic Monitor (MEM) is the World Bank’s biannual flagship publication on Malaysia’s economy and development progress. The special topic of this April 2026 MEM, “Raising the Ceiling, Raising the Floor: The Jobs Agenda as a Productivity Agenda” focuses on the Malaysian Government’s objectives of raising the living standards for Malaysians – undertaking structural changes of the economy (raising the ceiling) as well as improving living standards of the Rakyat (raising the floor).
