BYD Launches 2026 ATTO 3 in Malaysia with Enhanced Range, Performance and Smart Technology
BYD Malaysia has officially introduced the 2026 BYD ATTO 3, bringing a refreshed version of its best-selling electric SUV to the local market. Available in Ultra and Premium variants, the latest model offers better driving range, faster charging, stronger performance and upgraded technology. It also retains the practicality that made the ATTO 3 one of Malaysia’s most popular EVs.
Since its Malaysian debut in 2022, the ATTO 3 has helped accelerate EV adoption across the country. According to BYD Malaysia, the model has recorded more than 12,000 units sold locally and remains the country’s top-selling EV SUV.
The launch highlights BYD’s commitment to expanding Malaysia’s EV ecosystem through advanced battery technology, smart mobility features and customer-focused ownership solutions.
Building on a Proven Success Story
Jacob Ma, Managing Director of BYD Malaysia, described the ATTO 3 as a significant milestone in the brand’s Malaysian journey.
“The BYD ATTO 3 is the model that marked the beginning of BYD’s journey in Malaysia and continues to be an important part of our success here,” he said.
He added that the new version delivers a more refined driving experience, improved range and greater everyday usability while building on the model’s global success of more than 1.1 million units sold.
Meanwhile, Adeline Lew, Managing Director of BYD Sime Motors, noted that the ATTO 3 helped spark Malaysia’s transition towards electric mobility when it first arrived in the market.
“By combining enhanced performance, smarter technology, and everyday practicality, this latest model is tailored to fit seamlessly into modern Malaysian lifestyles,” she said.
Two Variants Designed for Different Driving Needs
The 2026 BYD ATTO 3 is offered in Ultra and Premium variants, allowing buyers to choose a configuration that best matches their lifestyle and driving requirements.
The Ultra variant comes equipped with a 60.48kWh BYD Blade Battery that delivers up to 480km of driving range based on the NEDC cycle. It supports DC fast charging up to 110kW and produces 150kW of power with 310Nm of torque. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 7.3 seconds.
The Premium variant targets drivers who want more performance and range. Its larger 74.88kWh BYD Blade Battery delivers up to 600km of range. It supports DC fast charging up to 220kW and generates 230kW of power alongside 380Nm of torque. The Premium completes the 0-100km/h sprint in just 5.5 seconds.
BYD positions the Premium as the flagship ATTO 3 variant under the tagline “Faster, Further, Smarter”.
It combines longer range, quicker acceleration and advanced technology features.
Advanced Technology and Enhanced Safety
Both variants include Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and modern connectivity features that support daily driving.
The ATTO 3 includes a 15.6-inch central infotainment display paired with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. Wireless charging is also standard, alongside BYD’s signature panoramic roof.
Comfort remains a key focus. Both variants offer ventilated front seats, while the Premium version adds enhanced driver seat adjustability, including four-way lumbar support.
Safety specifications have also been upgraded. The Ultra variant comes with six airbags, while the Premium variant adds a front far-side centre airbag, bringing the total to seven airbags.
In terms of practicality, the Premium variant provides a maximum luggage capacity of 1,360 litres and includes an additional 101-litre front trunk, offering extra storage space for everyday use and long-distance travel.
Blade Battery Technology Continues to Drive Confidence
At the heart of both models is BYD’s proprietary Blade Battery technology, which has become one of the company’s key competitive advantages globally.
The Blade Battery is designed to improve safety, durability and energy efficiency while supporting longer driving ranges. As EV adoption continues to grow across Malaysia, battery performance and reliability remain important factors influencing consumer purchasing decisions.
The 2026 ATTO 3’s upgraded battery options and faster charging capabilities address these concerns directly, helping drivers spend less time charging and more time on the road.

The 2026 BYD ATTO 3 Ultra variant is priced at RM125,800, while the Premium variant is available from RM138,800. Both models are offered in four exterior colours: Ski White, Atlantis Grey, Harbour Grey and Cosmos Black.
To mark the launch, BYD is offering an exclusive ownership package worth up to RM14,000.
