PETALING JAYA: AmBank Group and Ramssol Group Bhd’s indirect wholly owned subsidiary, RAMS Fintech Sdn Bhd, recently launched the Pay Day Now platform to provide innovative payroll solutions that support employee financial wellbeing while helping businesses enhance their payroll processes.
The Pay Day Now platform enables employers to offer Earned Wage Access (EWA), allowing employees to access up to 25% of their earned wages weekly, ahead of payday. By providing structured and responsible access to earned income, the platform supports employees in managing short-term cash flow needs, while reducing reliance on costly borrowing and encouraging more sustainable financial habits.
The solution is designed to support organisations of all sizes, ranging from public sector agencies and SMEs to large corporates and public-listed companies, enabling them to enhance employee support while modernising payroll processes.
The launch comes at a time when Malaysia’s workforce continues to grow and remain resilient. The country’s employed workforce reached 16.7 million people in the first quarter of 2026 (up 1% year-on-year), with salaried workers accounting for three out of every four workers. At the same time, Malaysia continues to maintain a low unemployment rate of 2.9% and a labour force participation rate of 70.9%, reflecting a strong and active workforce.
Against this backdrop, solutions such as EWA are becoming increasingly relevant as employers seek to complement traditional remuneration with more meaningful and practical employee benefits.
To support the solution, RAMS Fintech has integrated with AmBank’s cash management solutions, enabling secure and seamless wage disbursements through Malaysia’s real-time payment infrastructure.
By combining fintech innovation with trusted banking capabilities, the collaboration supports the broader efforts of Bank Negara Malaysia and Payments Network Malaysia to advance digital payments adoption, drive financial inclusion and strengthen Malaysia’s digital economy.
AmBank Group business banking managing director Christopher Yap said, “The launch of Pay Day Now reflects our commitment to supporting our customers with innovative solutions that address their evolving needs. We are pleased to strengthen our collaboration with Ramssol in delivering a solution that empowers employees with greater financial flexibility while helping businesses foster financial wellbeing and build more sustainable workplaces.”
The bank’s wholesale banking managing director, Datuk Jamzidi Khalid, said “This collaboration reflects how banks and fintech companies can work together to deliver practical solutions that benefit both businesses and employees. By combining RAMS Fintech’s Pay Day Now platform with AmBank’s transaction banking payment and cash management capabilities, we are helping employers provide faster access to earned wages through a secure and reliable banking infrastructure. This is another step forward in supporting businesses as they embrace more digital and efficient ways of managing payments and employee benefits.”
Ramssol group managing director and CEO Datuk Wira Cllement Tan said, “Pay Day Now is the first solution of its kind in Malaysia, developed by Ramssol to address a real and growing need within today’s workforce. We believe Pay Day Now represents the next generation of employee benefits, giving employees greater control over their earned income while enabling employers to build a stronger, more engaged workforce.
“We are proud to partner with AmBank to bring this solution to organisations across Malaysia and are excited about the positive impact it can create. We believe it will help employees better manage their finances with greater confidence and peace of mind, while supporting organisations in attracting, engaging and retaining talent.”
