KUALA LUMPUR, 14 AUGUST 2026 – The new digital charging service connects Mercedes-Benz vehicles, charging infrastructure and payment through one platform, giving electric and plug-in hybrid customers access to more than 3,000 charging points across Malaysia and cross-border networks in Singapore.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced MB.CHARGE Public, a new digital charging service designed to make public charging more seamless and convenient for customers of all-electric and plug-in hybrid Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Developed in collaboration with seven Charging Point Operators (CPOs), MB.CHARGE Public brings together the vehicle, charging infrastructure and digital services through a single platform, allowing customers to locate charging points, navigate to their destination, start charging and make payments without having to manage multiple charging applications.
The launch marks another step in Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s efforts to make electric mobility and EV charging more accessible to customers.

Building a Connected EV Charging Ecosystem
As Mercedes-Benz celebrates 140 years of innovation, the company continues to expand its electric mobility ecosystem with the goal of providing customers with convenient access to charging wherever they travel.
In Malaysia, the charging strategy covers Charge at Home through the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox, Charge at Retail in collaboration with retail partners, and Charge at Public through partnerships with golf courses, hotels and shopping malls.
The existing public charging network spans 19 locations nationwide with 44 chargers.
With MB.CHARGE Public, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is bringing public charging access, navigation and payment together through a single digital service.
Globally, MB.CHARGE Public provides access to more than 3 million charging points, with over 380,000 active users across 37 countries.
One Platform for Public EV Charging
MB.CHARGE Public integrates charging functions into the MBUX multimedia system and the Mercedes-Benz App, allowing customers to manage their charging experience through a single interface.
Customers can locate suitable charging stations, check availability and navigate to charging points directly through MBUX.
The system also uses Electric Intelligence to plan routes based on factors including charging requirements, helping drivers identify suitable charging stops along their journey.
Charging points can be filtered according to charging speed, while MBUX displays only charging stations compatible with the customer’s vehicle.
Once a charging contract is activated, customers can authenticate at participating charging stations through MBUX or the Mercedes-Benz App. Charging status can also be monitored through the app.
Greater Transparency and Convenience
MB.CHARGE Public is designed to simplify the charging process while giving customers greater visibility over costs.
Before charging begins, customers can view the applicable price per kilowatt-hour or minute, as well as the estimated cost of charging an all-electric vehicle to its maximum charge level.
Charging sessions are automatically billed through MB.CHARGE Public, with previous transactions available through the Mercedes-Benz Customer Portal and Mercedes-Benz App.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia said there will be no additional mark-up on the service, with customers charged the prevailing rate of the respective charging station.
Seven Charging Partners Expand Malaysia’s EV Network
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has partnered with seven Charging Point Operators to provide access to a broad network of public charging infrastructure across the country.
The partners are CarputZap, Charge+, ChargeSini, chargEV, DC Handal, Gentari and JomCharge.
The collaboration brings together charging infrastructure from multiple operators under MB.CHARGE Public, reducing the need for Mercedes-Benz customers to switch between different applications when using public chargers.
Eugene Tan, Director of CarputZap, said seamless charging will be important in supporting wider EV adoption in Malaysia, adding that the partnership places the driver experience at the centre of the charging ecosystem.
Goh Chee Kiong, CEO of Charge+, highlighted the company’s established charging network across Malaysia and Singapore, saying the integration will support Mercedes-Benz customers travelling between the two countries.
Other charging partners also highlighted the importance of interoperability and reducing complexity for EV drivers, with ChargeSini, chargEV, DC Handal, Gentari and JomCharge emphasising greater accessibility, reliability and convenience through the integrated platform.
Supporting Cross-Border EV Journeys Between Malaysia and Singapore
A key feature of MB.CHARGE Public is its ability to support cross-border EV charging between Malaysia and Singapore.
Customers travelling between the two countries can access participating charging networks through a single charging service, with charging sessions managed through one billing system.
In Singapore, the service provides access to charging networks from Charge+, ComfortDelGro Energy (CDG ENERGY), SP Group and Volt.
Mercedes-Benz customers from Singapore can likewise use MB.CHARGE Public to access participating public charging networks in Malaysia.
The cross-border functionality is intended to make EV journeys between Malaysia and Singapore more convenient, particularly for customers who regularly travel between the two markets for work or leisure.
Supporting Malaysia’s Transition to Electric Mobility
The introduction of MB.CHARGE Public reflects Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s broader efforts to strengthen the country’s EV charging ecosystem and support the transition towards electric mobility.
By combining vehicle connectivity, navigation, charging infrastructure and digital payments, the service aims to address some of the practical challenges associated with public EV charging.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia said it will continue expanding its strategic partnerships to strengthen the charging ecosystem and further enhance the ownership experience for all-electric and plug-in hybrid Mercedes-Benz customers.
