KUALA LUMPUR: Invest Selangor Bhd has launched a talent landscape report in collaboration with Randstad Malaysia to strengthen its appeal to investors by highlighting workforce capabilities and addressing industry talent requirements.
Titled Elevating Selangor’s Potential as a Global Talent Powerhouse, the report examines Selangor’s talent ecosystem, sectoral workforce demand, workforce agility and remuneration benchmarks.
The report is intended to help investors and industry stakeholders better understand talent availability and development in Selangor, particularly as companies assess new investments or consider expanding existing operations.
Invest Selangor said talent availability and workforce capabilities remained important considerations for businesses evaluating investment opportunities, with the report providing insights into the state’s role in supporting business growth and competitiveness.
The report was launched at the Selangor Investment & Industrial Park Expo 2026 (SPARK 2026), which runs from today until Saturday at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre as one of seven components of the Selangor International Business Summit 2026 (SIBS 2026).
SPARK 2026 features 198 exhibition booths representing eight countries, namely Japan, the Philippines, Kenya, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand.
The four-day expo brings together industrial park developers, investment promotion agencies, industry players and international stakeholders to explore investment opportunities and strengthen business connections in Selangor and the region.
It showcases industrial development opportunities, integrated logistics facilities and specialised industrial parks supporting sectors including manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, rail, life sciences, distribution and logistics.
Among the participating organisations are Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), Worldwide Holdings Bhd, Invest Pahang, Cyberview, EcoWorld, Mitraland, Sime Darby Property, Landmark Concord Resort Sdn Bhd, NCT Group, Sunway Rawang City, Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), Land & General and AME Development.
Invest Selangor is also hosting 35 international delegates from China, Bangladesh, Canada, Germany, Guinea, India, Nigeria, the Philippines, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
Through its Hosted Delegates Programme, the delegates are offered tailored exhibition tours, opportunities for pre-arranged business-to-business meetings, invitations to the SIBS networking reception and visits to selected industrial parks in Selangor.
The programme is intended to give international investors, business representatives and industry stakeholders direct access to the region’s investment ecosystem, facilitate discussions and identify potential investment opportunities.
SPARK 2026 also features stage programmes involving 12 speakers, covering industrial development, investment opportunities, infrastructure and evolving business requirements.
Presentations include EcoWorld’s Industrial Platform, Sime Darby Property’s industrial solutions and BBRBP Township, as well as PKNS’s GRIP Kota Puteri development, which focuses on sustainable and future-ready industrial park development.
Sustainable industrial development is another focus, with the Selangor Water Management Authority presenting its Zero Discharge Policy for water resource management, while Air Lestari will discuss water circularity as an investment enabler under the Second Selangor Plan and WST2040 roadmaps.
The expo also features the Tokyo-Malaysia Business Partnership Seminar 2026 and business-matching sessions organised by the Tokyo SME Support Centre to encourage cross-border collaboration between Malaysian and international businesses.
A seminar titled “Nuclear – Let’s Talk About It!”, organised by Worldwide Holdings Bhd, is scheduled for today at 2pm at the SPARK Main Stage in Hall 2. Representatives from the Atomic Energy Advisory Council of Malaysia, MyPOWER Corporation, Mott MacDonald and Worldwide Holdings will discuss nuclear energy and its potential role in Malaysia’s future energy landscape.
Alongside the talent report, Invest Selangor launched two other initiatives to strengthen the state’s investment proposition.
The Selangor Investment Promotion Booklet presents the state’s business opportunities and competitive strengths, providing a reference for existing and prospective investors considering investment or expansion.
The Invest Selangor Preferred Industrial Park Programme seeks to improve the visibility and attractiveness of the state’s industrial parks through strategic promotion and direct referrals, connecting businesses looking for industrial locations with developers offering suitable facilities.
The expo also features the Selangor Industrial Facilitation Clinic, which brings industrial investors, business owners, developers, consultants and project teams together with local authorities and technical agencies to clarify regulatory, compliance and approval requirements.
Participating agencies include local authorities, the Public Works Department, the Department of Environment and other relevant technical bodies, including the Department of Irrigation and Drainage, PLANMalaysia, the Land and Mines Office and utility providers.
