BURSA Malaysia ended the week lower amid broad-based selling, tracking weaker regional markets as global equities came under renewed pressure following Wall Street’s sharp decline overnight.
At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) lost 19.28 points or 1.17 per cent to 1,616.58 from Thursday’s close of 1,635.86.
The benchmark index opened 15.31 points weaker at 1,620.55, marking its intraday high, and subsequently hit a low of 1,610.80 during the mid-afternoon session.
Market breadth was negative, with losers thumping gainers 964 to 273, while 404 counters were unchanged, 1,132 untraded and 10 suspended.—Nov 6, 2026
