PETALING JAYA, 27 JULY 2026 – Legendary Malaysian band helps raise RM5,000 for charity as the PIKOM AI Masterclass Music Festival 2026 showcases how artificial intelligence and human creativity can thrive together
Music, nostalgia and generosity took centre stage at the PIKOM AI Masterclass Music Festival 2026, where legendary Malaysian band Alleycats captivated audiences with a memorable performance before a signed guitar auction raised RM5,000 for charity.
Held from 24 to 26 July in Petaling Jaya, the festival was organised by The National Tech Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) through PIKOM Academy, in collaboration with Gig for Good and Musicians for Musicians (MfM). The event explored the relationship between artificial intelligence, creativity and human potential, demonstrating how technology and the arts can complement one another.
A Night of Music and Giving
One of the evening’s standout moments came when a guitar bearing the signatures of the legendary Alleycats was auctioned for charity. Bidding began at RM1,000 before climbing to a winning bid of RM5,000, with the signed instrument eventually presented on stage to the successful bidder, creating one of the night’s most heartwarming highlights.
The charity auction reinforced the festival’s message that innovation extends beyond technology, highlighting the importance of generosity, community and shared human experiences.
Alleycats Bring Timeless Hits to the Stage
Following the auction, Alleycats delivered a 30-minute performance that filled the venue with nostalgia as attendees sang along to many of the band’s best-loved classics.
For many audience members, the performance offered an opportunity to reconnect with a group that has shaped Malaysia’s music scene for decades. Their appearance demonstrated the enduring popularity of the iconic band and the lasting appeal of songs that continue to resonate across generations.
