Sales Geek Malaysia Brings Fractional Sales Leadership to Malaysian SMEs – Malaysia SME®

KUALA LUMPUR, 12 AUGUST 2026 – The inaugural Sales Club connects Malaysian business owners with experienced sales leaders as the company expands its fractional sales leadership model across the country.

UK-founded fractional sales leadership provider Sales Geek Malaysia has launched its inaugural Sales Club, bringing together business owners, entrepreneurs and sales leaders to discuss the commercial challenges facing Malaysian SMEs.

Held on 1 August 2026 at Menara Pernas, the event marked the company’s first community initiative in Malaysia and its second in Asia. It reinforces Sales Geek Malaysia’s commitment to helping local SMEs overcome commercial growth challenges by improving access to experienced sales leadership.

The programme combined practical sales learning with peer discussion, connecting business owners with experienced commercial leaders who understand the realities of growing businesses in Malaysia.

Participants represented a range of industries, including technology, food and beverage, advertising, beauty and wellness, business development, training and HRD Corp-related services.

Malaysian SMEs Face Growing Pressure to Sustain Growth

Malaysian SMEs continue to balance their growth ambitions against a challenging business environment.

The latest Business Condition Index has fallen from 89 to 78.5, with 50.9% of SMEs reporting weaker domestic sales. At the same time, SME Bank found that 55% of export-oriented firms expected sales growth this year, compared with 38% of domestically focused businesses.

Rising input costs and continued economic uncertainty are placing additional pressure on margins and business confidence.

This structural challenge is also reflected in Malaysia’s MSME survival rates, with only 40% of new enterprises surviving beyond five years despite a 9.58% year-on-year increase in new MSME incorporations.

Against this backdrop, access to experienced sales leadership could provide SMEs with additional support as they seek to improve sales performance, strengthen commercial strategy and navigate changing market conditions.

Fractional Sales Leadership for Malaysian SMEs

Sales Geek Malaysia’s inaugural Sales Club forms part of the company’s broader commitment to strengthening commercial leadership among Malaysian SMEs.

The forum brings together business owners and experienced sales professionals to discuss current business challenges, exchange practical strategies and learn from seasoned industry leaders.

The initiative complements the company’s fractional sales leadership model, which was introduced in Malaysia in May 2026. Under the model, experienced sales executives work alongside SMEs on a part-time basis to strengthen sales strategy, leadership and execution without the cost of hiring a full-time senior executive.

The approach is designed to give smaller businesses access to experienced commercial expertise that may otherwise be difficult to secure through a permanent senior appointment.

Sales Leaders Share Strategies for Business Growth

The inaugural programme featured a panel discussion led by Niranjan Singh, CEO and Chief Geek of Sales Geek Malaysia, alongside Boba Sharma, Senior Vice-President of Sales and Strategy at Denave; Sean Lum, Founder and CEO of CEOsynergy; and Fareez Shahfiqar, Co-founder and Master Sales Trainer of Fueling Dynamic Dream Solutions.

The discussion explored how repeatable systems can enable businesses to scale beyond individual effort, why technology should augment rather than replace human judgement, and the importance of identifying the right customer before attempting to sell.

Panellists also discussed the importance of trust and long-term relationships in Malaysia’s B2B environment, where commercial processes need to work alongside local decision-making realities.

Building a Stronger Sales Leadership Ecosystem

“Malaysia is one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic markets, but local MSME survival rate underscores that activity alone is not enough to sustain a business through economic headwinds. Our mission is to identify the right sales leaders, equip them with proven frameworks and help them build fractional practices while serving Malaysian businesses,” said Niranjan Singh, CEO and Chief Geek of Sales Geek Malaysia. “Through Sales Club, our goal is to bring these leaders into the same room as business owners who may be looking for stronger commercial judgement. Over time, we aspire to strengthen the way sales is led across Malaysian businesses through this community.”

Simon Suresh, Country Manager of Sales Geek Malaysia, added that Malaysia has a pool of experienced sales leaders whose expertise could benefit SMEs, even when a permanent senior appointment is not viable.

“Malaysia has seasoned sales leaders whose expertise is urgently needed, yet a permanent senior appointment is not always viable for a single SME. The fractional model will unlock this underused talent pool among SMEs and allow businesses to access the same level of commercial foresight available to large corporations,” he said.

Sales Geek Malaysia Expands Its Network of Sales Leaders

The event also marked the signing of a Letter of Offer between Sales Geek Malaysia and Boba Sharma, Senior Vice-President of Sales and Strategy at Denave.

The partnership represents growing interest among experienced sales professionals in the fractional model and an early step in Sales Geek Malaysia’s efforts to develop a network of Solo Geeks.

As part of its expansion plans, Sales Geek Malaysia aims to onboard its first cohort of five Scale-Up Geeks and five Solo Geeks by the end of 2026.

The company believes this initial network will establish the foundation for a sustainable fractional sales leadership ecosystem capable of supporting Malaysian businesses at different stages of growth, while creating new career pathways for experienced sales professionals.

Three Sales Clubs Planned Annually

Globally, Sales Geek has hosted more than 350 free Sales Clubs, involving over 15,000 attendees.

In Malaysia, the company plans to hold three themed Sales Clubs annually, with the next edition expected to take place in October 2026.

Through the Sales Club initiative and its fractional sales leadership model, Sales Geek Malaysia aims to connect experienced commercial leaders with businesses seeking to strengthen sales strategy, leadership and execution — while building a wider community focused on sustainable business growth.
