SERI KEMBANGAN, SELANGOR, 5 JULY 2026 – JCI Bandar Setia Alam unites more than 300 community members in celebration of International Human Duties Day, promoting healthcare, education, business networking and social responsibility
In conjunction with International Human Duties Day, JCI Bandar Setia Alam, together with nine co-host chapters, successfully organised KitaCare 2.0: Lights, Love & Lifelines, a two-day community initiative that brought together more than 300 participants to champion health, education, volunteerism and community service.
Held over 4 and 5 July at Amerin Mall, Seri Kembangan, the programme formed part of the JCI Global Human Duties Rally 2026, encouraging individuals and organisations to recognise that while everyone enjoys human rights, they also share a responsibility to contribute positively to society.
Guided by the JCI Creed, “Service to Humanity is the Best Work of Life,” the initiative united government agencies, healthcare professionals, corporate partners, volunteers and members of the public in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10) and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
Blood Donation Drive Strengthens Malaysia’s Blood Supply
One of the event’s major highlights was the two-day Blood Donation Drive, which successfully collected 141 bags of blood to help strengthen Malaysia’s national blood supply.
Each donation represents an opportunity to save lives while demonstrating the community’s willingness to fulfil one of the most meaningful acts of service—giving selflessly to help those in need.
The strong public response reflected the spirit of International Human Duties Day, showcasing how collective action can make a tangible difference to society.
Public Safety Workshop Equips Participants with Essential Skills
KitaCare 2.0 also featured the React Right Public Safety Workshop, attended by 19 participants, where attendees learned practical first aid skills, emergency response techniques and public safety awareness.
The workshop aimed to equip participants with life-saving knowledge that could prove invaluable during emergencies, reinforcing the importance of community preparedness and responsible citizenship.
Business Networking Supports Sustainable Community Development
Recognising that businesses have an important role to play in driving social impact, the programme hosted a JCI In Business (JIB) Networking Session, bringing together 29 entrepreneurs, professionals and business owners.
The networking session encouraged participants to exchange ideas, establish strategic partnerships and explore opportunities to create positive social change through business collaboration, highlighting that sustainable community development extends beyond commercial success.
Movie Edutainment Programme Brings Joy to Children
The celebration concluded with a Movie Edutainment Programme, attended by 150 participants, including 60 children from three children’s homes:
- Guardian Angels Home
- Good Samaritan Home
- Triniti Children’s Home
In addition to a movie screening, the children enjoyed meals, gifts and meaningful interactions with volunteers, creating lasting memories while reinforcing the message that every child deserves care, support and encouragement.
Community Booths Promote Health and Volunteerism
Throughout the event, 17 community and exhibition booths showcased healthcare services, volunteer opportunities and community initiatives, allowing visitors to engage with organisations committed to improving public wellbeing.
The organisers credited the programme’s success to the combined efforts of healthcare partners, sponsors, exhibitors, government agencies, community organisations, volunteers and members of the public, whose collaboration transformed the event into a celebration of compassion and civic responsibility.
Small Acts of Kindness Create Lasting Impact
Reflecting on the initiative, Sebrinah Yeo Li San (Ling Faye), Organising Chairperson of KitaCare 2.0, said the programme was designed to inspire people to make a difference through everyday acts of kindness.
She emphasised that donating blood, sharing knowledge, supporting children and volunteering time all reflect a shared responsibility towards building a better society, adding that International Human Duties Day serves as a reminder that meaningful change begins with individuals choosing to care for one another.
Continuing the Spirit of International Human Duties Day
As part of the global movement celebrating International Human Duties Day, KitaCare 2.0 demonstrated how local community initiatives can contribute to the broader goals of International Human Duties Day through collaboration, compassion and active citizenship.
JCI Bandar Setia Alam expressed its appreciation to all co-host chapters, sponsors, exhibitors, healthcare professionals, volunteers and participants whose support made the initiative a success.
